Agassiz (Elizabeth Cabot Cary) is born in Boston.

The daughter of Thomas Cary and granddaughter of Thomas Handasyd Perkins, Elizabeth Cabot Cary marries Agassiz in 1850,* and moves to 45 West Street. She becomes a writer, and the founder of Radcliffe College in 1879,* and dies in Arlington on June 27, 1907.
